Trekking in NepalNepal's most mountainous, hilly & 'Terai' (flat) regions offer some of the most spectacular trekking in the world. Treks vary from high altitude routes to simple ones within the Kathmandu Valley. A trekking trip can be of any length you choose, lasting from a week to months. However, the hill country is also often breathtakingly beautiful with pretty villages, attractive houses and revering temples, as well as subtropical lowlands, vast meadows or forests, fast flowing rivers, deep canyons and the cold and barren regions at the feet of the mountain peaks.

Annapurna Region Trekking
Globally renowned trekking site in Nepal is no other than Annapurna region which comprises of three major trekking routes lying towards the north of central Nepal: Jomsom, Annapurna Sanctuary, and a circuit of the Annapurna Himal itself. The diverse terrain and the communities with varieties of cultures of the region make this area the most popular trekking areas of Nepal.

Everest Region Trekking

Langtang Trekking
This is another most exceptional trekking site placed north of Kathmandu in the middle of the Great Himalayan Range on the Tibetan border and is within easy access. Restricted Area Trekking
A number of the remote areas of Nepal were restricted for foreign visitors until 1991 where the entry of foreigners is strictly controlled. These trekking areas are different in many features from ordinary ones. Many treks that may be suggested on a map are in restricted areas and you either can not get a permit for these areas. You must travel with a liaison officer and pay for a special permit.

Paanchpokhari (literally means Five Ponds), which falls in the Langtang National Park, is formed by melting glaciers and all the lakes are considered sacred. There is also a Hindu temple nearby dedicated to Lord Shiva.
